Task force on climate-related financial disclosures (TCFD)

TCFD has become the baseline framework for reporting on climate-related reporting and disclosures.

In 2019 EPA research into the risks and issues of climate change for Irish businesses recognised that “the TCFD recommendations are increasingly recognised as the gold standard framework for companies to use to identify, assess and report on climate-related impacts.”

Finance Minister Pascal Donoghue has encouraged Irish firms to use the TCFD framework, and international regulators have also encouraged adoption, including the European Central Bank (ECB) and the European Commission in its guidelines on non-financial reporting.
