Mr John McGuinness
John is a Fianna Fáil politician and a Teachta Dála for the Carlow–Kilkenny constituency, upon being elected at the 1997 general election. He was appointed Chairman of the Committee on Finance, Public Expenditure and Reform in April 2016. He previously served as Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee from 2011 to 2016.
Justin Moran
Director of Internal Audit, Mazars
Justin has over fifteen years’ experience in the fields of internal audit, external audit the provision of IT audit services. Justin has significant experience of the delivery and management of risk management and fully outsourced internal audit services on behalf of Credit Unions operating in Ireland. Justin has also led our firm’s initiatives in supporting the Credit Union sector, including presentations to CUMA on credit union risk management, performance management and publication of articles and survey findings and analysis, including on the subjects of risk management, governance, Board performance management, training needs analysis and sector salary benchmarking. In conjunction with CUDA, Justin previously helped to establish their first shared service model for outsourced internal audit services (for members to avail of) in 2013.
Michael Fitzgerald
Director, Fraud Business SolutionsMichael Fitzgerald is an experienced fraud investigator, Michael has worked in financial services for the past 30 years, with the last 20 +years concentrating on roles in the area of internal and external fraud management working within the largest institutions in both the UK and Ireland. Work experience relating to internal fraud has ranged from investigative work, including investigating complex multi-million-pound cases, to implementing fraud strategies for multinational banks. Michael has also investigated and manged out on a number of speak up cases in both the UK and Ireland. Michael specialises in fraud awareness training, risk assessment and root cause analysis, along with performing investigations if required. Michael is qualified with a Masters in Fraud Management and is also a Certified Fraud Examiner.
Alex Burnham
Director, IT Audit and Security, Mazars
Alex Burnham is Director of IT Audit and Security within the Mazars Governance, Risk, Internal Controls team. Alex specialises in the delivery of technical IT Security reviews and audits. Prior to joining Mazars Alex has in excess of 15 years’ experience managing and delivering high-security network environments for both the British and Irish Government as well as the British Military.
