The Position

We wish to appoint an Assistant Manager in our Audit & Assurance Financial Services Department. The position will offer you excellent advancement opportunities working with a diverse range of high-profile financial institutions with a particular focus on banking. You will work closely with our international colleagues on cross border assignments and build close working relationships with the senior management team and partners. You will play an active role in the ongoing development of our financial services division. Strong technical, interpersonal and client relationship skills are required for this role. 

Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for a portfolio of financial services audit clients, including public interest entities
  • Operational supervision of assignments with a specific focus on audit, resourced from a combined pool of staff to achieve client satisfaction combined with targeted operational deliverables
  • Co-ordination/project management of audit assignments for clients in portfolio
  • Responsibility for staff reviewing procedures
  • Work closely with the senior management team in maintaining and developing client relationships
  • Planning of audit assignments, transition from previous auditors and onboarding of new clients, design and implementation of audit strategy, staffing
  • Compliance with the Mazars audit methodology, with appropriate consideration of audit risk issues and accounting technical matters
  • Work to deadlines and within budgets
  • Advising on financial reporting and other technical report matters
  • Act and be seen as a role model for trainees of the team
  • Involvement in firm / department development and marketing and recruitment initiatives
  • Contribution to learning & development and coaching of other less experienced staff
  • Participation in the delivery of internal training courses

Principal Requirements

  • Qualified accountant with banking audit experience in a Big 4/Top 10 practice environment (minimum 4 years/busy seasons experience)
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Experience working on large group assignments
  • Technical proficiency in IFRS
  • Fluent English with excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience of operational supervision of assignments and managing of client relationships
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisational and project management capabilities
  • Ability to provide guidance and feedback to others
