Lifecycle of an internal audit trainee

A trainee who chooses internal audit will work on a variety of assignments that may involve internal auditing, risk management, regulatory compliance, fraud investigations, audits of externally funded projects and corporate governance. You will be working within a team of junior and senior auditors and consultants, reporting to managers and/or partners, and you should have good analytical, communication and report writing skills. We have a structured training and development plan in place to facilitate your career progression, eventually resulting in you having to take a more responsible leadership role in our team.

Qualifications acquired during the training contract: CIA (Chartered Internal Auditor) or ACA (Chartered Accountant) or ACCA (Certified Chartered Accountant)

Lifecycle of an IT audit trainee

Successful applicants will be intensively trained and educated to operate to the highest standard in the area of IT audit and security, and staff are required to spend 20% of their time in our specialist IT/security lab ensuring that their technical skills are developed to the highest industry standard. The ideal candidate will come from a technology, computer science or similar background, with a strong interest in ICT and/or IT security and a desire to learn rapidly. This role provides strong candidates with the opportunity to become a key part of a rapidly growing area of business, and offers highly attractive career development opportunities.

Qualifications acquired during the training contract: Certified Information System Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)

Lifecycle of a tax Trainee:

The beginning of your training contract will equip you with the technical skills and knowledge in order to become an excellent professional in your field. You will assist other members of the tax team on the compliance side of tax related work while also learning the legislation and becoming familiar with a large spectrum of clients. You will report directly into the Tax Director and Tax Partner.  As you progress you will gradually gain more responsibility for elements of each assignment and begin to play a more central role. This will eventually lead you to managing a portfolio of clients and will be the lead contact on many assignments.

Lifecycle of a consultant trainee

Successful applicants will be employed under a three-year programme, in the course of which they will be trained and educated to operate to the highest professional standards across a variety of consulting projects. This will include support towards sitting of any appropriate professional examinations. The trainees’ responsibilities will grow with each year of the contract completed, and any examinations passed. By the end of their training, the applicants will take full responsibility for client consulting assignments. The ideal candidate will have good interpersonal and client interaction skills, and be capable of applying a rigorous and enthusiastic approach to assignments. The role provides candidates with the opportunity to become a member of a dynamic team in a rapidly growing area of business, and offers highly attractive career development opportunities.

Qualifications acquired during the training contract: The firm will support the trainee to acquire appropriate qualifications during the training contract
